Results & ReportsTracking School PerformanceIn 2006, EAA introduced the Total Assessment Partnership (TAP) which enables schools entering 85% or more of their students within any year group in each of the core assessments of Mathematics, Science and English to receive additional reporting data. This additional reporting data allows schools to measure and demonstrate student improvement and academic achievement from one year to the next. This information can form a valuable additional stream of data for teachers and school executive teams to use in the preparation of annual school reports and to meet accountability requirements. The information can help inform the decision making processes to improve and develop teaching/learning programs, guide resource acquisition etc. In addition, schools are provided with a summary of the development, improvement and achievement of each student who participated in the assessments from one year to the next. Tracking Student PerformanceIn 2006, EAA introduced Comparative Performance information on each student report. This information provides students with historic tracking, outlining the results they achieved in the assessment in previous years. Students and their parents can then observe and monitor progress and development from year to year.

What are Strengths and Weaknesses?At the conclusion of each ICAS testing program, the responses to each item are analysed to determine the relative difficulty of the question. This analysis is based on the number of students within the state that answered the question correctly. A strength is indicated for individual questions when students from your school performed significantly better when compared to the performance of all other students within the state on that question. A weakness is indicated where students from the school performed significantly below the performance of all other students in the state on that question. |
